As Jawaharal Nehru said: "We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm and adventure. There is no end to the adventures we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open." A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step. It is almost like talking with men of other centuries. It is more than the seeing of sights and changes that goes on, deep and permanent, in the ideas of living. Infact it is the frivolous part of serious lives, and the serious part of frivolous ones. The same way we got an opportunity to have an experience on a ride of different emotions. The Drive towards Azamgarh & Bundelkhand had no idea what to expect or what would be the experience, but the ceremony took a fabulous experience among great people. Our journey started when our MD & Global CEO, Mr. Krishan Guptaa visited the tulsi fields. He was quickly surrounded by farmer villagers who were eager to greet him. He was immediately caught up in the welcoming song expressing the excitement of the day. The muffled sound of singing became strong and clear. The spirited crowd finished its song and sat in a semi-circle enclosing a straight row of 6 chairs. The chief of the village welcomed us formally. The ceremony was ready to begin, where warm blankets were to be distributed to the needy and destitute who suffer through cold winters because of the lack of adequate heating, blankets or shelter. One by one as their name was called Mr. Guptaa handed the blankets to the farmers. They were all very happy to receive them. Some knelt to their knees as they received their blankets, others shook our hands and smiled and walked proudly away with their very own blankets. Once the final blanket was handed out, a parting song was offered by the grateful crowd. The expression of gratitude to the community was priceless! The blankets all had ORGANIC INDIA logo printed on it. The blankets were a gift from ORGANIC INDIA and were a symbol of the love, affection & care for farmers. Mr. Guptaa found himself in a crowd of villagers all reaching their hands out to hopefully get that one hand shake and that smile from him. His comments were in regard to health and proper use of the blankets. Our mission towards distribution was to Announce the opening up of a clinic for medical consultation and treatment to all farmers and their families free of charge. Another welcome promise made was to provide scholarships to praiseworthy students pertaining to farmer families. Support and coordinate services and provide assistance to the farmers. Support local homeless programs and law enforcement that take care of homeless people in the area. Support future operating funds through a trust fund established at the ORGANIC INDIA Foundation. Raising awareness about those in need and to provide long-term support. The voice of thanks and the multiple waving hands slowly disappeared behind us as we drove off. In today's commercial world such activities/photographs are rare to be seen. This makes us different from others and it makes you feel good...
