Many people have asked us why we call our Tulsi a 'tea' when there is no black tea in our Tulsi Original blend. Throughout the USA, Europe and other western countries, drinking herbs, spices and fruits in the form of infusion is commonly referred to as 'herbal tea'. The word 'tea' is being used in this way for many different herbal infusion drinks, even a drink of lemon with hot water is regularly referred to as 'lemon tea'.
However, in India, this is all relatively new, and the word 'tea' is almost exclusively used to denote black tea. Our friends at the Tea Board of India kindly pointed this out to us, and we realized that we were unnecessarily confusing out customers.
As soon as our new packaging reaches the shelves, you will know if the word 'tea' appears on any of our products that will mean there is black tea inside, or green tea as in our Tulsi Green Tea. Otherwise there will be no black tea, just pure organic Tulsi and other healthy and delicious herbs and spices. We hope you will also appreciate the clarity this will bring.
