THE AGRICULTURE Minister, Mr Diwakar Vikram Singh, inaugurated the manufacturing facility of ORGANIC INDIA on Faizabad Road in the city on Thursday. The company specializes in Ayurvedic herbal formulations and Tulsi tea.

The capsules that are given to us are made from animal by products. In effect, we are eating non-vegetarian products. ORGANIC INDIA is the only company that imports vegetable capsules made from plant cellulose.

Bharat Mitra, Director of ORGANIC INDIA, said this at the launch of the company's products in the city. "Our products are meant for use in day-to-day life and modern living. Since its inception six years ago, the company has finally come of age with the launch of its introduc tory range of products," he said. The Organic Tulsi Tea is a deli cious blend of Rama, Krishna and Vana Tulsi leaves and is the first tea of its kind in India.

With emphasis on quality certification, the company has tied up with SGS India Ltd, an internationally known quality verification company, to not only certify the quality of the product but also the soil where the raw material is grown, Mr Mitra said. "Our emphasis is on a total organic product ie a product which is wholly grown without chemicals, pesticides et al. "Stringent norms ensure there is no leaching of chemicals from neighboring fields, which affect its quality.
