If you are worried about the ill-effects of synthetic colours in the coming Holi festival, relax.
Taking care of your worries, a city-based company ORGANIC INDIA, has launched its eco-friendly and herbal colours this festival season.
According to The company's officials claimed that their colours besides being safe to skin were also in sync. with mythological stories.
ORGANIC INDIA manager Vandita said that use of gulal and colours in Holi had health benefits as in ancient times the colours were made from medicinal herbs like Tulsi, Neem, Kumkum etc. and kept germs under control.
But at present oxidized metals and industrial dyes were being mixed with engine oil were often used with colours and they often caused a number of skin diseases and were also harmful for eyes, the manager said, adding that synthetic colours could cause incurable diseases like allergy, temporary blindness, renal failure, skin cancer and even paralysis.
Referring to the herbal-based Organic Gulal launched by her company Vandita said it contained medicinal herbs that had health benefits and no side effects. She said the herbal colours had special fragrance of love and were eco-friendly.
About the company's product, the manager said that the first gulal was made with organic Tulsi leaves and natural fragrance and the second from Arrowroot powder, turmeric and had natural fragrance. "These gulals will lift the spirit, provide grater protection and will cause absolutely no harm even if they enter the mouth by mistake," Vandita claimed.
