Tulsi, our very own courtyard herb seems to be worlking wonders
in across 30 countries, benefiting people suffering from chronic
diseases. Certain other Indian herbs too are simultaneously being
used to treat people, if experts are to be believed .
"Change in diet and use of herbs has given relief to many
of my patients suffering from hypertension, digestive problem and
diabetes. I started using herbs since 2001 and the results are high
quality ' said lair David Frej of Chek Republie on Sunday.
Dr Frej was in the city to participate in ORGANICON-2010, the international
conference on latest research done by scientists involving organic
plants and medicines.
The event was organized by Organic India that produces. herbal
medicines, organicalIy grown foodgrains and spices, dehydrated fruits
and specialized organic products. Practitioners from different parts
ofthe world came together on a platform to discuss dis-eases and
their treatment.
Addressing the interactive session, Dr Narendra Singh, director
of the International Institute of Herbal Medicine said, "Often
people get worried about a fever of unknown origin. But if Tulsi
is used, it not only brings down fever gradually but also helps
boost immunity."
A plethora of questions were put up by participating doctors and
were answered by Dr Singh. The doctors from different countries
who are using herbs shared their experiences with the other participants.
"I can give example of a dengue case where the platelet count
was below 2,000. But I cured the patient with eonfidenee and without
any complications," said Dr Singh in Reply to a query raise
upon the use of Tulsi and herbal medicines.
