Lucknow: What do you call a herbal brew that refreshes, soothes and detoxifies your body? We might as well call it tea, says the CEO of ORGANIC INDIA, which launched five new flavours on Monday. Sweet Lemon, Tulsi Sweet Rose, India Breakfast, or Tulsi Mulethi are the new arrivals from ORGANIC INDIA, the maker of organic supplements, psyllium (Isabgol) and Tulsi Tea.
The Tulsi Sweet Rose is a light blend with a refreshing 'gulab jal' aroma while Sweet Lemon adds a splash of lime to freshen your day and Tulsi Mulethi relieves a sore throat. India Breakfast is a caffeinated, black blend while the soothing Jasmine Green has been concocted to help insomniacs. Each pack of 18 tea bags costs under Rs. 250. They are also available in 100 gm packet of loose tea leaves. A cup of Tulsi Tea can lower stress levels with its adaptogen and is a powerful antioxidant to boot.
Tulsi Tea includes three varieties of the revered plant - the medicinal and powerful Vana, the aromatic Rama and Krishna, for colour. The Tulsi Chai Masala green tea is already available in supermarkets, said Krishan Guptaa, CEO, ORGANIC INDIA. Indians are now beginning to opt for premium tea blends, with awareness of health and wellness products rising in the country. The maker exports 18 blends to Europe, US and Japan. The company uses herbs, as opposed to competitors who use herb extracts, and package the leaves in tea bags made of unbleached paper. Sachet that contain tea bags are also made of eco-friendly paper laminates. The company employs contract farmers at Azamgarh in the state as well as Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh to cultivate herbs, castor oil and chicory in their farmlands.
