Get the monsoon glow! We tell you how

The rain brings with it a change of temperature and humidity triggering a drop in immunity leading to infections, especially of the skin. Also, the humidity and sweating leads to loss of moisture and clogged pores causing eruptions and blemishes. Zero in on a healing, protecting and nourishing skincare routine that’s right for you.

Start and end your day the right way: Cleanse your skin with a soap-free or natural cleanser such as besan. If you step out, wash your face as soon as you return to remove excess grime and oil that clog your pores. After cleansing, massage a drop of ORGANIC INDIA’s Kure Skin Glow Moringa Seed Oil into your skin to moisturize and hydrate.

Moisturize more: The humidity pushes up sweating leading to a loss of moisture and dull skin. Use a nourishing water-based moisturizer twice or thrice a day to keep your skin supple. To get your glow back, gently rub in coconut oil. The natural fatty acids in this is hydrating and antimicrobial. ORGANIC INDIA’s Cold-pressed Virgin Coconut Oil comes with the added benefit of being 100% certified organic.

Go natural: Avoid heavy make-up or apply minimal make-up to let your pores breathe. Maybe just a concealer and light brushes of powder. Use a gentle make-up remover. Don’t scrub your skin too much - the abrasion may tear delicate skin, causing inflammation and irritation that will lead to clogged pores and acne.

Protect yourself from the sun: The cloud cover doesn’t prevent UV rays from penetrating. Match your sunscreen to your skin type; and choose a water-based product for extra hydration. Use nothing below SPF 30.

Exfoliate regularly: Your skin renews itself every 28-30 days. Exfoliate to slough off dead cells and reveal youthful skin underneath. Salt, coffee grounds or baking soda are good natural exfoliators – just mix in your favourite essential oil. Exfoliate only once or twice a week or it will dry your skin and may cause inflammation.

Drink plenty of water: Water flushes out toxins and purifies your blood. Add apple cider vinegar to your water – it’s packed with antibacterial and antifungal properties. Just add a tablespoon of ORGANIC INDIA’s Organic Apple Cider Vinegar to your first glass of water each morning to kick start your skin care routine.

Go the extra mile: Pamper yourself with face peels and packs. Use natural products – the fruits and veggies in your kitchen - to balance out oils, draw out the impurities and plump up your skin. Face masks and peels unclog your pores, prevent breakouts and give you tighter, more glowing skin. Pureed tomatoes or cucumbers or besan, sandalwood or turmeric mixed in rosewater work well.
